- Does my file get uploaded?
- No. The PDF is opened and every mark is added entirely in your browser, on your own device. The file never leaves your computer and never reaches a server — it even works offline.
- Can I edit the existing text in the PDF?
- This tool adds marks over the page — text you place, freehand drawings, highlights, and boxes. It does not retype or reflow the document's existing body text (no client-side tool can do that reliably). Everything already on the page is preserved exactly; your marks sit on top.
- Will my highlights hide the text underneath?
- No. Highlights are semi-transparent, so the text under them stays readable — exactly like a highlighter pen. Nothing on the page is removed or covered up.
- Does adding marks change the rest of the document?
- No — it's lossless. Your text, drawings, highlights, and boxes are added on top; every page and all of its existing text stay exactly as they were. The added text is real, selectable text, not a picture.
- What text can I add?
- Latin text — letters, numbers, and common punctuation. If you paste characters the tool can't add yet (for example, non-Latin scripts), it tells you clearly instead of silently dropping them.
