Terms

Plain terms for a plain deal.

Free tools that run on your device. Use them lawfully, keep your originals, and we'll keep being honest about exactly what the service does. The specifics:

01

The service

Filum provides free document tools that run entirely in your browser — your file is processed on your own device and never uploaded to a server. The tools are provided as-is — we verify each one against real documents before listing it, and the live status page shows the real health of the service at all times.

02

Your files, your responsibility

Everything you process stays yours — we claim no rights over your documents. Every tool runs on-device and never transmits your files to any server; there is no upload, no processing server, and nothing stored. You are responsible for using the tools only on files you have the right to use, and for complying with the laws that apply to you.

03

Acceptable use

Don't use Filum to break the law, to infringe others' rights, or to attack the service itself (scraping at abusive rates, probing for vulnerabilities outside responsible disclosure, or interfering with other users).

04

Accounts

Accounts are optional and free. You're responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials safe. You can delete your account at any time, which removes the email address and session data described in the privacy policy.

05

No warranty, honest limits

The tools are free and provided without warranty of any kind, to the maximum extent the law allows. We test every tool against real documents before shipping it, but you should keep your originals — for on-device tools the output is generated locally; for server-side tools the file is deleted immediately after delivery. We cannot recover or guarantee output for any specific purpose.

06

Changes

If these terms change, the new version is posted here with an updated date. Changes never apply retroactively, and a change that meaningfully reduces your rights will be highlighted on this page, not hidden in a diff.
