DOC to PDF
Convert a legacy Word .doc file to PDF using LibreOffice. Text, headings, tables, and basic formatting are preserved. File is processed on a secure server and never stored permanently.
Frequently asked questions
- Does my file get uploaded?
- Yes. Converting a Word .doc file to PDF uses LibreOffice running on our secure server. Your file is sent over an encrypted connection, converted, and immediately deleted — never stored permanently.
- What is the difference between .doc and .docx?
- .doc is the legacy Word format used by Microsoft Word 97 through Word 2003. .docx is the modern Open XML format introduced in Word 2007. Both are supported by LibreOffice, but the modern .docx format generally produces more accurate output. If you can save the file as .docx from your application, use the Word to PDF tool instead.
- Will formatting be preserved?
- Most standard formatting — headings, tables, bold, italic, lists — is preserved by LibreOffice. Complex legacy elements (drawing objects, OLE-embedded content, tracked changes) may render differently from what Microsoft Word produces. LibreOffice is a separate layout engine.
- How long does conversion take?
- Most .doc files convert in under 15 seconds. Larger files with many embedded objects may take up to 30 seconds.
