Frequently asked questions
- Does my file get uploaded?
- Yes. Converting a text file to PDF uses LibreOffice running on our secure server. Your file is sent over an encrypted connection, converted immediately, and deleted — it is never stored permanently.
- What font and formatting will the PDF use?
- LibreOffice applies a clean default font (typically Liberation Mono or Liberation Sans) with standard margins and line spacing. There are no formatting options — the tool produces a clean, readable document from your text content.
- What text encodings are supported?
- UTF-8 is fully supported, including accented characters, CJK characters, and special symbols. Files in other encodings (Windows-1252, Latin-1) are handled on a best-effort basis.
- How long does conversion take?
- Most text files convert in under 5 seconds. Very large files (1 MB+) may take up to 15 seconds.
