Meme Generator

Add classic top and bottom meme captions to a JPG, PNG, WebP, or AVIF without uploading it anywhere — the text is stamped in your browser. White letters with a black outline, auto-sized to fit and wrap. The file keeps its format, and the measured quality of the re-encoded result is shown. No account, no email.

Frequently asked questions

Does my image get uploaded to make the meme?
No. The captions are drawn inside your browser on your own device — the image never leaves your computer and never reaches a server. Memes are often made from personal photos and screenshots, so it matters that the picture isn't sent off to someone else's server first, which is exactly what the upload-based tools do.
What do the captions look like?
The classic meme style: uppercase white letters with a heavy black outline, centred at the top and bottom. The text is auto-sized to your image and wraps onto more lines when it's long, so it always fits without clipping.
Will the captions reduce my image quality?
Adding text changes pixels, so a JPG, WebP, or AVIF has to be re-encoded — there's no lossless way around that. The tool re-encodes at high quality and shows you the measured quality score of the delivered file, so nothing happens silently. A PNG stays pixel-for-pixel identical everywhere the captions don't cover, with transparency kept.
Does it keep my file's format?
Yes. A JPG comes back a JPG, a PNG a PNG, a WebP a WebP, an AVIF an AVIF — captioning marks your image, it doesn't convert it. Transparency in PNG, WebP, and AVIF is preserved.
