Convert ODP to PDF — turn a LibreOffice Impress presentation into a PDF

Convert an ODP (OpenDocument Presentation) file to PDF. LibreOffice-powered — each slide becomes a PDF page. File deleted immediately after.

ODP (OpenDocument Presentation) is the native format of LibreOffice Impress. Converting it to PDF produces a fixed-layout document where each slide appears as a PDF page — the standard format for sharing presentations with audiences who may not have Impress installed.

Accuracy

Because ODP is LibreOffice Impress's own format, the conversion is rendered by the same application that created the file. Fonts, transitions (rendered as static final-state), layouts, and embedded images all appear exactly as Impress would show them.

File handling

The ODP file is sent over HTTPS to a secure server running LibreOffice, converted to PDF, and the file is deleted immediately. Conversion typically completes in under 15 seconds.

How slides become pages

Each slide in the ODP presentation becomes one page in the PDF, at the presentation's native aspect ratio. Widescreen presentations (16:9) produce widescreen PDF pages; standard (4:3) produces standard pages. Text, shapes, images, and embedded objects all render in their final position.

Slide notes are not included in the default output. If you need to include notes, export the presentation to a notes layout from LibreOffice Impress before converting.

Animations and transitions

PDF is a static format. Slide transitions do not carry over each slide is captured in its final, fully-animated state. Elements that appear on click during a presentation are shown in their final visible state in the PDF. If you have build animations where objects appear in sequence, all of them will be visible simultaneously in the PDF page.

Fonts

Standard fonts (Arial, Times New Roman, Calibri, Liberation Sans) are available on the server. Custom fonts that are embedded in the ODP file may be substituted if they are not installed on the server. To ensure exact font rendering, outline your text in LibreOffice Impress before converting.
