PDF Tools
Repair PDF
Attempt to recover a damaged or corrupted PDF by re-parsing it with lenient settings and re-saving a clean copy — entirely in your browser. The file is never uploaded. No account, no email.
Frequently asked questions
- Does my file get uploaded?
- No. The recovery runs entirely in your browser, on your own device. The damaged file never leaves your computer and never reaches a server — it even works offline.
- What kinds of damage can it fix?
- It fixes the most common PDF damage: bad cross-reference tables, incomplete saves, orphaned objects, and incremental-update bloat. It cannot reconstruct individual content streams (images or fonts) that have been overwritten or truncated.
- What if the PDF is already valid?
- The tool tells you clearly that the PDF was already valid. It still re-saves it as a clean, compacted copy, which may be slightly smaller than the original.
- What if the PDF is password-protected?
- You need to remove the password first using the Unlock PDF tool, then try repairing it. The repair tool cannot open an encrypted file without the password.
