PDF to Excel

Convert a PDF to an Excel spreadsheet (.xlsx) using LibreOffice. Best for text-layer PDFs with simple, structured tables. File processed on a secure server and deleted immediately.

Frequently asked questions

Does my file get uploaded?
Yes. Converting a PDF to Excel uses LibreOffice running on our secure server. Your file is sent over an encrypted connection, converted, and immediately deleted — never stored permanently.
What kind of PDFs work best?
PDFs that were exported from Excel, Word, or other office software — with a text layer and clearly structured tables — convert best. The content from each page is extracted into the spreadsheet. Complex multi-column layouts or PDFs with overlapping text may not preserve the table structure perfectly and may require manual cleanup.
Does it work on scanned PDFs?
Only if the scan has a text layer (OCR was run on it before it was saved as a PDF). A scanned PDF that is just an image of a page has no text data to extract. Run it through OCR PDF first, then convert.
How long does conversion take?
Most PDFs convert in under 20 seconds. Larger files may take up to 40 seconds.
